Design and construction of an industrial flooring system for the Penagos Hermanos warehouse in Bucaramanga, Colombia, covering a total surface of approximately 7,794 m² (≈ 83,894 ft²). The project included both structural industrial flooring and specialized protective coatings in specific production areas.
The main warehouse floor was executed using the RCR CONDUCTIL SFRC system, constructed in large panels without shrinkage joints. The slab was built with 3500 psi concrete and a thickness of 17 cm, reinforced with high-performance steel fibers. The surface was finished with a quartz-corundum hardener (QUALIDUR) in neutral grey, ensuring high abrasion resistance and durability for logistics operations.
The execution included double polyethylene vapor barriers, concrete supply with integrated steel fibers, spreading, screeding, vibration, leveling and mechanical finishing. Construction joints were installed using Permaban Wave galvanized armored joints, with additional reinforcement in high-load equipment zones. The floor was designed to support loads of 5 ton/m² and 8.9 ton per axle, achieving flatness parameters of FF60 / FL50.
Additionally, specialized areas such as the galvanizing and painting zones were protected with the RINOL Allrounder Polyester system, a 3 mm epoxy coating applied in three layers including primer, intermediate broadcast layer and colored finishing coat, providing chemical and mechanical resistance for industrial processing environments.
