Design and construction of industrial concrete flooring for the PriceSmart facility in Medellín, Colombia, covering a total area of approximately 15,105 m² (≈ 162,585 ft²). The project included different functional areas with specific structural and operational requirements.
The parking deck area built over steel deck consisted of a 10 cm thick 3500 psi pumped concrete slab, reinforced with electrowelded steel mesh (5.5 mm – 150 × 150 mm). The works included concrete supply, placement, screeding, vibration and leveling, followed by mechanical finishing. Contraction joints were mechanically cut using diamond blades and sealed with elastic sealant according to client specifications.
In the PV1 zone, the slab was constructed with 4000 psi concrete and a thickness of 15 cm, reinforced with Dramix 3D 80/60 steel fibers (20 kg/m³). The surface was finished with QUALITOP Millennium dry shake hardener in French grey (5 kg/m²), providing high resistance to abrasion and heavy operational traffic.
