British Standards Institution has awarded the first ISO 9001:2015 certificate to ROCLAND R&T, a Spanish company specialising in industrial flooring.

Following the formal audit of 5 November, the favourable report was issued for certification in the new version of the ISO 9001 quality management standard, with the scope: “design, development, manufacture and commercialisation of durable products for the surface treatment of industrial concrete flooring. Commercialisation of products for the production of concrete flooring”.

The new ISO 9001:2015 is geared more towards the development of the actual business as it involves senior management, customers, shareholders and stakeholders with the aim of minimising risks and increasing opportunities.

Jesús Librán, Director of ROCLAND, stated: “Even before the publication of the new ISO 9001 in September 2015, ROCLAND had already analysed the new requirements and how they could be applied, based on the existing draft standard. And although being one of the first is always a risk, the management's strategic decision and its constant focus on improving the various aspects of the organisation have been hugely helpful. Our aim in rolling it out has been to use the tool and all of its benefits as soon as possible. In fact, such aspects as staff awareness, risk and opportunity assessment, needs management of the various players, etc. have become part of the day-to-day work of ROCLAND R&T, with the aim of their being the continuation along the road of ongoing improvement.”
