Design and construction of an industrial concrete floor for the CEDI Galapa logistics facility in Colombia, covering a total area of 18,257 m² (≈ 196,514 ft²). The project was executed using the CONDUCTIL SFRC system, built in large panels without control joints to maximize structural performance and durability.
The slab was constructed using 3500 psi concrete with a thickness of 15 cm, reinforced with high-performance steel fibers. The surface was finished with a quartz–corundum dry shake hardener (QUALIDUR) in neutral grey to provide high resistance to abrasion and heavy logistics traffic.
The works included double polyethylene vapor barriers, supply of fiber-reinforced concrete, spreading, screeding, vibration and leveling, followed by mechanical finishing. Construction joints were executed using sinusoidal armored joints and sealed with elastic sealant. The floor was designed for loads of 5 tons/m², with flatness parameters of FF45 / FL35 to meet logistics warehouse performance requirements.
